I thought he was supposed to be the one candidate who understood 9/11, but tonight he showed how clueless he really is on the issue. How can he be so obtuse?

Moose - I am not suggesting that the U.S. flew the planes on 9/11. The people who did, though, were driven to the act out of response for U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East. They did not attack us just because they are Muslim, but rather because of the way they perceive our actions in their region to be unjust.
Do I believe our policies justified 9/11? No, no one should. But, the fact remains that, it is still the reason al-Qaeda attacked us.

CJ - What was Osama bin Laden's response to the Persian Gulf War?
How did he propose to handle Saddam's invasion of Kuwait?
How did he respond to U.S. troops being in Saudi Arabia?
What were the veiws of his mentor, Abdullah Azzam?
How did these veiws help shape bin Laden's life?
It is about U.S. foreign policy through the eyes of radicals. You're fooling yourself if you don't believe it.

Nothing justifies 9/11 but we have our own gov't to blame. Period. Our foreign policy and our ideas rubbed the Middle East the wrong way. Now, I'm not saying that 9/11 was an inside job, that's just complete conspiracy crap. We have to blame the last Presidents that have been in charge for not securing our country and also being a moderator on foreign policy. I think Giuliani is only depending on the 9/11 issue. I liked him until the debate. He's lost serious points with me. The only point Paul screwed up on was the fact we've been bombing Iraq for 10 years. He got the rest crystal clear though. I do blame our gov't for its foreign policy. But I will never blame 9/11 on the average American that practices freedom in as many ways as possible. We don't need to police the world, we need to worry about our own country that's hurting our own people! Of course, we should be included in foreign affairs but not being the police. I'm really ashamed of Giuliani's reaction. Thanks!

finally! each and every person is commencing their eyes to be certain the certainty and the info displayed right here communicate for themselves. After that super answer from gypsy_cat 345, i've got not got lots to assert different than that human beings like Vanessa could examine out the bigger image and make her very own tests, quite than believing in what the media choose human beings to believe. additionally, i don't think of human beings could balme the Islamic faith for the strikes of ignorant so-stated as Muslims who declare they're appearing on its behalf. secondly, i don't think of Israel is largely a small united states of america that desires to be left on my own. If this became into the case it does not have waged an entire-blown warfare on lebanon, killing thousands of human beings with a view to regain 2 of their infantrymen who have been captured by applying Hezbollah. shouldn't they think of approximately freeing the super quantities of lebanese prisoners at present in Israel! Thirdly, Muslims have not got something against Jews. the situation is with the Zionists and Israelis. BTW, i'm not Lebanese. i'm purely pointing out what i beleive is the certainty

When are you going to face reality that it is not U.S. foreign policy that caused these attacks? The attackers don't care about U.S. foreign policy. They see us as "infidels", people who are immoral and deserve to die, and their "religion" dictates them to do it. Did you not hear the last words of the 9/11 hijackers? It has to do with killing "infidels". They're not about our policies! It's a religious war to them. We're not fighting another nation, we're fighting an ideaology.
The US represents all that Islam hates. We are free, we are predominently Christian, and we support Israel. Period!
Why do you think Osama bin Laden and the rest of the Muslim thugs call us "Crusaders", "Supporters of Zionists", and "The Great Satan" ? It's all about Islam vs. West.
Perhaps YOU need to understand 9/11, and then you will understand Giuliani's response. Since he was on scene, and you were not, I tend to think he grasps the picture much better than you do.

Dr. Paul flattened him. Truth is the revolution. I know in my neighborhood talk was about Ron Paul. They really like him and these people don't know anything about the man, but they were impressed with what he said. they were saying they never heard a public official be so direct like that on an issue. When Rudy tried to rebut Dr. Paul's statement and have him rescind it, he responded in "defense" and "support" of what he said. They've never seen or heard that before like that. He better be careful, he's winning the average american ppl. Fight the good fight Dr. Paul.

Policy or no policy, the attacks will continue against all infidels, as the radical Islamic terrorists plan to wipe out all who are not with their radical format, even their own people who don't side with them. Giuliani, is right as no matter what our foreign policies are, the hatred for the west, and anyone who isn't with these radical terrorists will drive them to continue to be violent and attack us and others.

There is terrorism in the US because it supports Israel. Islamic radicals do not want anything that supports the existence of Israel. Thus, if the US stops its aid to Israel, Americans will not bother about terrorism.

Guiliani was the mayor of a big city. Just because he was in charge when 9/11 happened doesn't mean he knows squat about the geopolitical issues that caused it. This whole "they hate our freedom" stuff is absolute bunk.

Nothing America has done justifies 9/11.
Nothing.
If you don't agree with your government's dealing with America, deal with them. Respectably.
