Falwell was a master organizer. He wasn't much of a 'Christian'. He was 'far right', but very far from being right. Will the movement he started survive, or will it evolve from being a right-wing political movement into a truely 'Christian movement?

Quite honestly, I'm far from being a liberal and was a staunch conservative for many years, but I am definitely breathing a sigh of relief. The "Christian Right" definitely has it WRONG!! I'm all for good morals, but the only way to heaven is through faith in Jesus Christ as your Savior - HOW YOU BEHAVE has nothing to do with salvation and I'm sick of that message being shoved down our throats by the church. Legislating people's behavior does nothing to change people's hearts - the only way to change people's hearts is through faith in Jesus - not legalism. Until the church goes back to preaching and teaching about faith in Jesus, there is absolutely no hope for this country whatsoever.

I think I might host a party this weekend to celebrate the good news. Now if only we lose some of the other BS-spewers like Limbaugh, Coulter, and Pat Robertson.

A man who's legacy and "movement" is using religion for personal gain and attacks upon others has no right to respect in my opinion.

Jerry Falwell was a Christian. You Liberals seem to confuse Conservative with Christian too much. They agree on many things. They are not the same.

Anti abortion: Christian. But Conservative also.

Anti Homo: ditto.

There is nothing "far right" about it. It is right.

People like you really need to learn to show a bit of respect to such a great leader and man of God. I hate to see what you call a true Christian Movement. Let me guess, according to your "Christian Movement" we would accept abortion, homosexuality, women preachers. This is referred to in the book of Revaluation KJV (if you have one) as the church of Leodecia or the lukewarm church in other words they have no back bone and do not stand for anything. That would probably fit your agenda right.

Falwell was not the Christian right, he was the Christian wrong.

It isn't Christian to use your religion for your own hate to others and/or terrorize everyone.
Jerry Lewis must have found that today being rewarded accordingly
His gathered flock should disband or,as probably they will do,wait for its master to do resurrectal until they get to look around for some imitators trying to buck his strap-on.

I am a Christian....and I couldn't stand that guy! If he was a true beleiver (which only God knows for sure) then he's in a better place. But I'm glad that he isn't in the spot light anymore giving us non-evangelical christians a....well I don't want to say "bad" name....but an odd outlook for sure.

He has just gone ahead to stoke the fire of hell for the rest of them that will be soon following.

Isn't it amazing that for someone that made his name demonizing everyone and everything should have died like a squashed fly on his own in an office...LoL

We're going to Disneyland!

With our families, of course. We've earned it, we work hard to provide your education, healthcare, and food stamps. And not for government unions, either!
