I have to check-in at Ranikhet hotel on 24th May at 12 Noon. And also please let me know about how to return to Delhi.

the best option if u ask me would be to take either train till kathgodam (some of friends have already given this info - ranikhet exp ..............).the other option would be to take taxi from delhi. as far as travelling via bus from delhi to ranikhet is concerned, i'll not suggest u unless u r bunch of school/ college guy with "kuch bhi chalega" attitude. first of travelling via road in up is one hell of experience. if u r travelling with women/ children then opt for either of modes suggested by me. when travelling via train u can take either bus from kathgodam or taxi till ranikhet. another advantage of travelling by train is that u can travel in the night & save on day!

Take a bus from ISBT Anand Vihar (East Delhi). It is far more convenient as you need not change your mode of transport.
If you go by Ranikhet Express then you need to get down at Kathgodam and then take a bus/taxi. Better option is take a bus from Anand Vihar Bus Depot.
Buses are crowded so ensure that your tickets are booked well in advance.

Go to Kathgodam or Haldwani by train (Ranikhet express) starts at old delhi at 10.45 pm and reaches at 5 in the morning. Take a Taxi from there - takes 4 hours.
You can get shared Taxi, Bus etc from Haldwani & Kathgodam
Same train returns, leaves Kathgodam at around 8.30 pm
Buses go from ISBT (Anand Vihar I think), but they are few and not too comfortable
