if it's around the 7-8 min. time that'll be great.

I tried Free-Bird but it was too long and Hotel California was too short.
so any ideas?

Chambers Brothers: Time Has Come Today

I have made some movies professionally and here's the thing: The lyrics get in the way. If you can find a rock "song" that has no lyrics, it works much better. The Chambers Brothers piece I mentioned has a very long section, very interesting stuff, heavy rock, and no lyrics. I have used this piece in a few action sports movies and it worked really well.

My favorite music tracks to use with movies I make is by a musician by the name of Andreas Vollenweiter. There are no lyrics, just great imaginative, original music. Of course it is copyrighted, so I make the movies for my own personal enjoyment and to practice digital editing. I share the movies with friends, but I would get sued if I sold them. Vollenweiter's song tracks blend from one into the other, depending on the album (he has many), so length is not a problem.

That said, I have had some success with short pieces by the Steve Miller Band. They are classic rock and the lyrics are not as important as their musical timing and innovation.
