Actually MP4 or Motion Pictures Expert Group 3/4 is a compresion program
Kind of like how win95 is to win98 similar but a little better. MPEG4 alows for a smaller file and better quality recording. MP 5 is not far away so don't buy that 8 track yet!

I think iTunes automatically makes everything mp4.
Theye're just two different formats for the same thing.

Pretty much the same thing except for quality and compression, but the H&K mp5 is the best.
