NH, NJ, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Vermont, California, Oregon, and Washington all conduct 'civil unions' between same-sex couples.

Massachusetts is the only state that allows gay marrage, proper. However VT, NJ, CT allow domestic partnership. Oregon has just passed a domestic partnership bill as well.
