from the largest oil company in the world, which is Exxon/Mobile, that it will hit "their" pocket book? It's not going to take one day of boycotting buying gas. It's going to take every day! The next time you pull up to the pump, beware of whom you're buying from. Do others agree?

Gasoline is a commodity. The refineries put all their product into a pipeline and ship barrels of concentrated additives to the pipeline terminals. When a tank truck is filled, the proprietary additives are mixed into the gasoline. Until that happens, all you have is generic gasoline and it's all in the same storage tank.
Same principle for 10% Ethanol blend. The Ethanol is mixed in as the tank truck is filled.
Bottom line: Your generic gasoline might come from one refinery or several. The real difference between brands is the additives. Refineries will still be making money, regardless of brand preferences. The convenience store and service station owners might feel the pinch, but not the oil companies.

I agree and I know that if all Americans boycotted the pumps, gas prices would plummet.I would be willing to boycott the pumps if the country would join in.It wouldn't take that long and even if it did,we would win the battle. This is a lesson from the boycotts of the 60's,they certainly worked.

I don't buy from them anyways. I always go with what is cheapest, which is usually from the grocery store that we shop at. For every hundred dollars we spend there, we get 10 cents off per gallon. Exxon/Mobile doesn't own them either. The food is also the best priced in town. I kill 2 birds with one stone

Guess what, people. it all goes through the same pipeline. When you buy gas at a C store, how do you know you're not getting Mobil or Exxon. Buy something wrapped in or packed in plastic? Plastic comes from plastic resin, wihch comes from crude. Ever hear of Mobil Chemical Co??? LOL!

the problem is people need to work and a lot need to drive to get to work. i guess the refineries are the problems and the tree huggers wont allow the government to build more. Gas per barrell is about the same and withouth the problems on our shores gas would be near 2 bucks a gallon

better gas mileage cars are also needed

Yes I do agree. I just hope that high gas prices ($4 or more) this summer well help people take notice and stop buying as much gas.

Yes....I'm sick and tired of people saying don't guy gas on this day. If you really want to make a difference boycott a specific company and not just gas in general on one particular day. Thanks for your question. I hope people read it and get a clue.

I don't agree. Boycotting one station or more will not work. Check it out at the following website.
