As a gas guzzling, mass consuming, task juggling, ball dropping, needy, spoiled rotten, hypocritical, bullying, taunting beast with a superiority complex? and what can we do to change it?

How many have we hurt? How much does the U.S. owe? Trillions! also whatabout Indians? Africa to American slaves? Hiroshima? Iraq's many innocents? What about the US accounting for 2/3rds of the worlds air pollution? the dirt we do over here effects other countries. Yes we have food, lots of it, we also have lotsa garbage. The worlds most powerful Continent cannot even implement decent recycling programs. The US has helped alo of people for whatever reasons (prolly mostly unsavory) yet at the same time, being the most powerful, when we hurt someone its like the dfference between a child punching an adult and an adul punching a child, America treats the world like a red headed step child named Punchbag.

If you're an American, you should be ashamed of yourself. If you're not, then maybe you should take a good look at where you're at, and try to fix something there, instead of concerning yourself with us; "gas guzzling, mass consuming, task juggling, ball dropping, needy, spoiled rotten, hypocritical, bullying, taunting beasts with superiority complexes"....

And as for you Canadians, your politics are part of the problem, not the solution.

Open borders are a bad idea, even with Canada!

Yeah, I agree with a lot of what you wrote. It is unfortunate, but typical of empires that grow too powerful and then devolve into bastions of materialistism.

The cure? I can think of a possibility: Have every citizen of the United States spend at least one year living in a third world country--on the economy of that country--and then let them move back. Priorities would change, as would the outlook on geopolitics. Our problem is not one of basic greed; it is a problem born of incredible ignorance.

I was born, brought up and currently living in the US. I am proud to be an American but all that you say is true. I believe most liberal Americans do see these things and nothing can really be done about it. At the same time...What country is perfect??? NONE!! We will probably hurt ourselves in all that we do. What goes up must come down.

Well to each their own.........is what being in the USA is all about, to have the ability to speak what is on you mind. However, if you really have this opinion of being in the USA, get your self a visa and move right along to another country that might suit your needs and desires more. More power to you. Enjoy!!!

We could all chip in to send people like you to live in a country where there are no automobiles to guzzle the precious gas,no food to consume, no jobs to be had, no luxuries in which to spoil, no freedoms to express disdain.

Oh yeah, you just stole all those words right out of my mouth...it's hard to all change the minds of such a large mass of people though. Let's face it, every country hates or once hated U.S., I mean U.S. didn't really have a friendly history towards other countries.

Let's see....
The Revolution (against British)
Indian VS U.S. Battles (against Native Americans)
Mexican American War (against Mexico)
Civil War (against...themselves?!?!)
World War I (against Germany)
World War II (Germany again, also Japan)
Iraq War (against Iraq)

Not to mention all the other COUNTLESS conflicts amassed by U.S. and their greedy citizens.

Try living a Spartan existance. It is a very conservative existance. And quit feeling guilty about commonly practicing all of your aforementioned problems and make the change.

I'm Canadian and I personally see the US as probably a bit arrogant, a little too religious for my liking, but all in all ... I'd rather have them as friends than as enemies! LOL

The US is okay. They maybe just need to stop taking everything so seriously, as should we all.

Peace out!
