EXACTLY.
The only way to lower the price of gas, is to use less.

even dumber is the fact that all of the people who didn't buy gas today are just going to go buy it tomorrow. what is the point of putting off buying gas for a day, that didn't even affect the gas stations.
this wasn't a boycott, because anyone with 1/4 of a brain knows that even if you don't buy gas today, you're still going to need it the next day. the only way you could actually affect the gas companies is to use less gas every day, not just not buy it one day out of the year.

Very stupid idea... if gas prices went down, it had nothing to do with people not buying gas today. Gas companies know that if we don't buy gas today we will buy gas tomorrow.
The proper approach to a gas out would be to not drive your car for a day. If no one used oil or gas for a month, it would drive prices down. Not everybody can take off work for a month though.

I think the gas out is ineffective because say no one buys gas on a Monday....all that means is that people are going to buy twice as much on Sunday or Tuesday. Sure, it might affect the gas companies numbers on that Monday, but it's not going to affect them in the least in the long run. We need to eliminate our dependence on gas. No demand and the prices will go down.

I didn't know there was a gas out. Oh well, I don't think they make any diff anyways. What people didn't buy today they will have to buy tomorrow or the day after etc.

We need to stop buying gas from Exxon/Mobile. Straight to the point. They are the largest oil company in the world. So the next time you pull up to the pump, beware of who you're buying from!!!

You know, on mapquest theres this new thing where you can compare gas prices your area. And its free! Also, sometimes you can save up to almost $1 per gallon of gas.
