in add and remove programs, my printer has an x through it, it still prints, the program isn't running like it should . Its a Lexmark Printer z611. All advise is appreciate.. :)

Have you thought about pulling the plug on your printer, and running the CD software that came with your "Lexmark Printer z611", and put the plug back into your laptop, or desktop processor, when the CD, advises you to install the plug. Then complete the installation of your software for your printer. Remove the CD, when the software says "finish".
I use Cannon and I wish that I cold give you more advise, other then the above suggestion of reinstalling your printer and hope this will resolve your problem.

Make sure you have the driver disk or download it .Then turn printer OFF, and unplug USB cable.Then uninstall it in add/remove programs in the control panel and reinstall the drivers.This should fix the problem.The drivers are at the link below.
