Due to rising price of gasoline I have cut back on unnecessary driving. I don't understand why the left is "angry" about the high price of gasoline. Isn't expensive gasoline a disincentive to waste gasoline thereby reducing carbon monoxide emissions on our roads? Doesn't this force us to save our "delicate" environment? "Do as we say, not as we do" ~ Official Motto of the Democrat Party (a subsidiary of DreamWorks and Miramax).

Reread the question. It doesn't say "Why are ONLY the leftists angry about high gas prices?"

Spiritwalker ~ I have two jobs. The full time includes working with the severely mentally handicapped for pennies on the dollar of what you make.

Michael da Man ~ This is certainly not a Straw Man fallacy, even wishful thinking would be a stretch.

Just Hanging Out in B&W's ~ The hypocrisy of the owners of the Democrat Party (Hollywood) is not the point of the question. It simply serves as an example as the official motto of the Democrat Party. *chuckling* Thank you for the education friend.

Ashley D ~ Why are you angry about the cost of gasoline if your father is reimbursed for his expenses?

DEMOCRATS SHOULD BE PLEASED WITH THE PRICE OF GASOLINE! YOU CARE ABOUT THE ENVIRONMENT SO MUCH THIS SHOULD BE WELCOMED WITH OPEN ARMS! IF YOU'RE ENVIOUS OF THE PROFITS OF OIL COMPANIES----BUY STOCK.

If people cannot afford even a small increase in the price of gasoline then they are simply living beyond their means.

Humph. DreamWorks and Miramax? You forgot to add Halliburton. (Check the list of major stockholders...)

You didn't mention how many modern refineries the US has been building lately. (zero)

Or how many carbon-free modern fission plants have been added to North America.(zero, only the socialist French are allowed to play this game, and they're restricted to Old Europe.)

But I really think the reason is that most "environmentalists" agree that it is better to let third world countries ravage their own environment.

Their logic escapes me.

The price for crude hasn't increased and neither has the refining process changed. The gas producers are padding the wallet because they're facing major capital expenditures as they're doing deeper and more extensive drilling off the east coast and in the gulf. So the profit margins have to be met while money has to come in to compensate for those expenditures. Increasing the oil production capacity overall is a financial decision and not an environmental one.

I do not drive any more than I absolutely have to. I plan my outings so that I keep my mileage to a minimum. I shop at stores close to my home even though they may not necessarily be the least expensive. I rent several movies at once. I cook at home. I am still mad that gas costs so much. I am doing everything I can in my home to fight global warming.

It sounds to me that you've stuck your head into a hole and don't believe that global warming is a fact.

This is not a left vs right issue. You need to wake up.

First, personally I'm more upset that we're not investing in better alternatives.

Second, everybody is upset about rising gas prices not just "leftists".

Third, It's not like the rising prices are going to stop people from driving.. Which leads me to be even more upset about the first..

jp8- If it were solely inflation.. Double cheeseburgers from Mickie D's would cost $3 as well. Inflation has very little to do with it..

plus, they erroneously accuse the iraqi war upon our 'greed' for oil while they are complaining about the cost they are paying.

quite a dichotomy.

of course, we know the war had nothing to do with oil and their criticism is just part of their constant effort to muddy the waters. i just wish they would at least use more logic when they do bicker.

we need lower prices - don't touch iraqi oil.

as always, it's a go figure........

I think regardless the price of gas, or anything for that matter, the libs would still work their hardest to find something to complain about. That's what they're good at.

Take a look at the profits of the oil companies for the last three years. That should answer any and all questions.

Left tries to protect the common man and not everybody can afford sudden increases to the cost of living. There are many millions with very tight budgets.

I am a Democrat, and I love the high prices! I am hoping it climbs to around 10 bucks a gallon, as I enjoy being raped out of my money!

Yes gas prices are a little high, but they honestly are not that outrageous! ITs called inflation and for people to expect gas prices not to rise are ignorant
