My sister called me on the phone yesterday and was crying so hard. She's 21, and im 14. She was telling me how her 21 year old friend had her 14 year old sister over at my sisters house, and how she got so sad because she missed me. I live about 8 hours away from her, and my mom won't let me even go stay for a weekend. How do i talk my mom into this? Me and my boyfriend are very close, so he told me and my mom that he would pay for the trip up there and back, and my sister would come get me as long as he payed. Anyone have any ideas on talking her into it? I really miss my sister..

To ljhammon...My boyfriend isn't even going... i said he would pay for it and my sister would come down and get me. He doesn't have anything to do with it other than paying for it.

I am a mom. Its very important that you have a relationship with your sister. But is there a reason your mother doesn't want you there? Is your sister a little irresponsible like most 21 yr olds? Is she so busy you would be left alone during the day? If you can say no to these questions, write out why you think you should go & present your proposal in a calm, mature way. If they still say no, don't throw a tantrum, look devestated and walk away quietly. That always gets me when my kids are trying so hard to be adult-like. They still may not "be able" to say yes for some reason, but you will have planted a seed and if the time ever arises again they may say yes.

It is very refreshing to hear about siblings missing each other.

For the love of GOD go see your sister.

Keep talking to your mom about it.

Have your sister call your mom, maybe that will help.

Take care and be brave-Go sisters!

Is there a reason why your mom may not trust your sister to care for you while on a visit...and if so is there another family member that could go with to help ease moms mind?

this always happens to me wen i wanna see my brother @ his job, he hasnt moved out yet or anything so i like to bother him wen he works and he works at a zumiez 3 miles away so she doesnt want me riding on my bike all the way out there so she says that i have to get atleast 1 friend to go with me that she trust, so if u have a friend and ur mom is fine w/ them then try to get her convinced by bringing them along

Missing sister? Or want to hang out with boyfriend. Lets be honest here. Mom has a right to be concerned. There is something more than that to the story if mom does not want you going to see your sister.
