I don't like to celebrate anyone dying, but the guy advocated so many wrong and hurtful ideals that I'm not necessarily sad to see him go.

Another one bites the dust.....I did not always agree with the very opinionated Rev. Falwell however, the Jesus I know taught that we are to love all men and look at them through 'his' eyes, for he is the ultimate judge and sits on the right hand side of His father as our advocate. I am sure that he was saved and though opinionated as he was, he was still a child of God. We also know that death is the last enemy to be destroyed - we all must pass this way. The best thing we can do is to live our lives as if each day was the last. I encourage us all to love one another as we have been loved - even in the midst of our sins and shortcomings and imperfections- we are still loved. I pray for his family and his church. When a formidable leader dies who has made an impact such as he, many people are affected and it is a great loss to them - even if not to us. Peace is the waymaker - and joy is within.

I live here in Lynchburg just a few blocks away from him. I met him and saw him around town a few times and found him to be a very enjoyable man. He had an incredible ability to remember names after having only met you once. He also was a prankster. When his sons would have people at the house, Jerry would hide behind doors, jump out and scare the ____ out of them. I regret that he always seemed to have a reputation of manipulating funds...who knows if he did or not. But he was an enjoyable guy to be around. He over-spoke a few times but nobody's perfect. His son, Jonathan is a very nice guy and very friendly. He is not the dynamic speaker that Jerry was, but I believe he is a true man of God and will do well carrying his father's torch. I will be praying for their family tonight as I hope all of you will. It's a strange feeling that this town is now without Jerry Falwell in it. Even if you didn't agree with him, you have to res[pect that he had a dream and brought it to fruition. He was by far the busiest man I've ever known. He flew all over the place and never seemed to ever sleep. I for one will miss him.

Jerry Falwell was the white Al Sharpton, both in the business of division to obtain leadership.

No recommendations. he's ineffective. i don't want you to burn in hell for eternity . yet once you got here back as a guy or woman involved in the different intercourse and you wound up straying to San Fransisco and met somebody particular ...why i might say that should be a solid Karma after lifestyles.

I am always saddened by someone's death, but in this case I am completely ambivalent. I do not believe that Falwell was a good man. Much too opinionated and unyielding .

It's sad when anyone dies.
As a Christian Fundamentalist myself, I found "the good reverend" would shoot his mouth off just a little too much and would behave in a way that, at least the way it was portrayed in the media, as being not very Christ-like.
The Jesus I know forgave the adultress and did not have her stoned to death.

Let me see here.. Jerry Falwell. The fellow who opposed Martin Luther King and argued for segregation. The fellow who blamed lesbians, gays, feminists, abortionists and pagans for the downfall of America ... yeah.. I have a few thoughts and none of them are fit to post in a public forum.

I am a Christian, however there are alot of his views that I didn't agree with. I am sorry for his family and church family's loss. I actually did go to his church when I was younger with a family member, but I was a kid and didn't really know his impact then.
In my opinion, he was to quick to judge people. I know he was a man of the cloth...but God is our judge!

Obviously you are happy, just by the way you posed your question. I did not agree with his beliefs, but I do believe all Americans have a right to express their opinions. That's what makes our Country great!
