Noone has ever paid me anything. I get welfare, foodstamps, medicaid for my 2 children and myself. When my uncle decides to put her in a nursing home, we are out of a home, unless I can find some way to be able to stay in this house. Her will has left the house to her 4 children who help me with nothing. None of them even called her on mother's day. I finally figured out I could get financial aid for college and I'm taking Graphic Design for an associates degree. I just started that and I love it. My problems are, we have no transportation, and if they put her in a home, we have no home. Any help out there before its too late?

I would suggest you talk to your grandmother. she probably appreciates your help. ask her to consider a codicil that allows you to live in the house and take care of it until you either graduate from school or your children graduate, or for a set period of time. after that time, all rights to it can revert to her children

No, there are no squatter's rights of that nature in America. Start saving up and find a cheap apartment, or talk to her and see if you can convince her to leave you something in her will in exchange for you taking care of her for so many years. I'm sure she will realize the value of all the care you have given her and be willing to leave you something.

Possibly, under a doctrine of easement by prescription. But, if there is a requirement that you must adversely possess the property, then you are out of luck. Many states do not require that you possess or use the property in an adverse manner, but if they do, you do not qualify. Go talk to an attorney.
