There are three sources every human being can turn to when faced with questions concerning the essence of life. The first is an enlightened being... a Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ or prophet Mohammed. If we do not find company of an enlightened soul who can give first-hand experience we need to refer the second resource.
Gaining enlightenment is a difficult task. In the last about 150 years amongst 6500 million people living on Mother Earth... only two persons gained enlightenment... they were Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana. No doubt... the company of enlightened souls is simply impossible. The second resource is the literature authored by the enlightened soul or related to him.
Any literature concerning Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana is helpful in knowing the inner truths of life. These enlightened souls have already traversed the path. They know the absolute truth... we only need to fathom the pearls of Wisdom contained in the teachings of the enlightened masters.
The third and foremost resource is available with us every moment of life. Our soul atman residing within our heart always prompts us on the right path. We only need to hear the sweet small inner voice of our soul atman within that seems to come from the heart. Those who travel the path of absolute truthfulness are distinctly able to hear this voice. Any and all questions about life are easy to solve. I hold the question up on one side and the universal law of attraction on the other. A little thought sometimes is necessary to see how they fit together. If the fit is not perfect, it means that there is something wrong with the question.

No one.
Everyone's experience of life is different. In most cases, I won't even give advice to someone who is asking.
I think some of life needs to be experienced. I think we all have a process to go through and sometimes we may try and circumvent that process.
My motto has been to observe and learn from others.

I turn against myself and engage in self-criticism. I also take on board the various criticisms of others - even if i disagreed at the time i heard them - to better be able to see myself from another persons' perception. Nobody provides better criticism than those that care for you most - as long as they have the guts to do it - and this person would be my mother.

Myself, for only I can supply the answers that make sense. I can't believe people will turn to a couple thousand year old fiction book for the answers to life (the bible). LOL.
A better question might be WHAT do i turn to. I turn to logical reasoning, hypotheses based on what i have observed.

There is safety in a multitude of councilors, according to the bible. If I need to make a decision that I will have to live with for any length of time, unless I feel totally confident, I will talk to my mother, sister, my daughters, and a few treasured friends.

like previously stated, there are many different places you can turn when looking for advice. First I would ask my parents, if they cant help you, then turn to your good friends. If worse comes to worse, see a counsler, and they should be able to take care of you. Good Luck!

My main and first source is my parents of course, then I go to my boyfriend, and finally to my friends, I also consider the bible apart of what i look at it is not the first and not the only thing that i look at.
