Immigration from any Country is fine. Illegal entry is another issue. We have Immigrants from all over the world, as do we have Illegal aliens who get here via boat, crossing borders, etc. This Country needs Immigrants, as they are the ones who will do the grunt work for the rest of us Americans, picking cotton, vegetables, fruits, etc. Illegal aliens do the same work, they just came here surrepticiously. America needs both, and you have posed a tough question. Close the borders, more for National Security than anything else, and give out more work Visas to Immigrants (different from Illegal aliens) that are applying for citizenship. Your question has stumped the best minds for decades on how to handle this. Border closing, as well as air screening, etc, will help retard terrorists. It will also slow the influx of illegal aliens, mostly from Mexico, so we will be paying more for our food products, restaurant costs, lumber costs, etc. What is the answer? No one knows! National Security issues, cheap labor needs, allowing others to come here freely, as our Ancestors did, to find a better life? There is no one answer, and WE, as Americans, need to work together to find an answer that helps all of us.

He has all the facts and his mind is already made up. If you want to make a difference contact a local politician in your area. This issue is becoming more and more a local issue. Cities are passing ordinances that is making life difficult for immigrants. Writing your Congressman is a waste of time. If you really want to make a difference go to a city council meeting or hang out at your state capital while the Legislators are in session.

Dear Congressman,

If you do nothing to enforce immigration laws, what moral authority do you have to enforce any other law? Illegal immigration is having an enormous impact on the U.S. politically, economically and socially.

Since you are being slack about immigration, do you think maybe you could be just as lazy about tax collection?

Sincerely,

Joe Sixpack

I would say we need to enforce our laws. When you break laws to come into our country, you are a criminal. Arrest the illegals.
As for you who think its tough for immigrants. Its tough for americans who now have to fight to keep the jobs that "no one else will do" cause someone illegal will do it for less. And to the legal immigrants. those of you who had to work hard to become a citizen. Thank you for being a constructive part of our society.

You want to know whats right? If your not coming here legally, you broke our laws and I would deport you in a heartbeat and the next time you come over illegally its straight to jail. If you have brought innocent kids or had them since you came here, you better hope grandma in Mexico is available, because they are going back to Mexico.
Don't tell us you do the jobs we don't do, bull, I have worked in meat plants, cleaned houses, babysat, painted, etc. Its all just an excuse for your being here illegally.

Contact the national groups who speak in favor of immigration reforms with a path to legalization.
This is one of many sites you can go for help.

Say, I’m sorry for being in your country illegally. Thank you for not throwing me in jail for breaking your laws. I am going home to my country and I will go through the proper channels and try to become a citizen of your great country legally. Again I am sorry for disrespecting your people and your laws.

Then sign it and go HOME.

I would say that immigration is all well and good. Criminal acts, however are not good. You might even call them bad.
