What can the United States of America do to improve it's image in the world and why?

Question

To me the most generous and compassionate people in the world are the American people. I have often read criticisms of the American people by people from other countries. I am sure in some way or another the American people have generously contributed to the country of the ones that criticise. It bothers me that so many are critical of the American people yet it is America that's most often the first to arrive in a disaster to help in any way she can. It is not only the American people that should be contributers but other countries should contribute also, to their ability. I have often heard of starving citizens in America, but I have yet to see one. I myself am one of those poor people ($750.00 a month) but have never gone without basic needs or hungry, I have never seen anyone else do without or really go hungry except those that chose to. God Bless America and the world; may all the hard feelings become brotherhood for the mutual benefit of all on this planet!

I think that most people don't care much for Americans because the majority of Americans don't worry about anything in the world, except what is going on in the US.
Ask anyone what is happening in Sudan, Russia, Pakistan.. I bet 99% of them wouldn't know. That just pisses people off in the world, because the rest of the world actually does know.
By not knowing or trying to know, it seems as if we don't care. This is what makes us look like a selfish society.

honestly i think that the only way America can improve its image in the world is to get out of all the other people's country. let them deal with their problems, and if they come begging for our assistance ignore them. the last time America tired this ww2 broke out. So its either be active and fight little battles that other countries cant fight by themselves or do nothing at all and risk another world war. its hard to chose. So because soooo many of europeans want america out, fine!! i hope we will get out, we honestly didnt like europe back in the 17th and 18th century and we sure as he** dont like it now.

and for that one answer that said europe didnt like america cuz we dont pay attention to whats happening there...thats a bunch of bull**** that argument is completely wack....ok i agree if you ask americans about europe and other countries they probably wouldnt know much, but if you ask them about whats happening right now in Kansas they wouldnt know sh** they would probably know more about us than we do them, only because america is the top dog in television, radio, and etc. its kinda hard not to hear about it. so dont give me that crap

Perhaps if the Americans would stop acting as if they were the moral high court while bolstering corrupt regimes, people's opinion of the country would improve. Slowly, ever so slowly, people might forget the rapacious corporate kleptocrats that impose puppet governments all over the world.

Elect politicians who will restore Constitutional government, and change our foreign policy to one of non-intervention.

Had our politicians not gotten us involved in foreign wars across the globe, we never would have been attacked on 11 September. And then there would have been no justification of the USA PATRIOT Act, and the rest of the police state policies to "protect us from terrorism".
