Sounds like you might have had a blunt razor. Make sure it is sharp before you shave again
Regular shaving should also keep the itchies away
And of course it is ok for you to shave there. Why wouldn't it be? It looks and feels great

It's okay because it's YOUR hair and nobody else's. And eventually it will grow back. But it's really not normal to shave there, and it certainly isn't good for the skin. You can get rather nasty infections from shaving there, and a lot of guys who shave REALLY STINK because without hair, air doesn't circulate, and all sorts of fungus grows well.
Hair is sexier anyway; most women don't like the "little boy" look.

Trim the hair first before shaving it. Use a clean razor and shaving lotion to shave the hair off. To reduce itching afterwards use a non-scented lotion in the area.

Ouch! Sounds painful.
I'd suggest trimming at first and then using a razor or clippers. Be forewarned though..you may be itchy afterwards.
Or if you want to save yourself the grief of being in pain then just go out to your local drugstore and get a depilatory cream to take care of it for you.
The other alternative is waxing..don't think most men do that one though. lol

You might be better off trimming and shaping it rather than shaving it, especially if you have hair in the surrounding areas (i.e., stomache & legs). Otherwise, it'll look weird to see a "blank spot"

Its a very sensetive spot, so you should be very careful doing it, use lots of cream or shaving cream! after your done make sure you smooth it with some hand cream to avoid the itching.
