so what would you reccomend that is good for it at reasonable prices?

thank you all for the wonderful help... i found a good deal at compusa for a power supply only a little more than 70 bucks and it had 3 12v rails with 18 on each so it might even work for when i upgrade in a bit more than a year. but ya thx to all i hope this card will give me a huge boost from my 7600gs

The x1950 Pro PCIe draws 66watts, the AGP version a bit more because of the added AGP bridge chip.
Do not rely on minimum power supply requirement. You would just be running the power supply at FULL LOAD (esp. the +12V rail) and that means running HOT.
Consider something like this where the bulk of the wattage is on the +12V rails:

Do not make the mistake of getting a 500 watter BUT w/ a weak +12V rail.

i think a standard power supply should be fine. unless you want to go crossfire. for that, make sure you have a crossfire motherboard and at least a 500 W power supply. Generally speaking, you won't need large power supplies for single gpu card setups.

you could get a 500 watt power supply for about 30$ at newegg,whatever you do don't buy those really cheap power supplies because they don't last long.

It's a 500 watt powersupply (your card requires a 450 watt supply), Its $30, cheap, high ratings, and it runs very quite

Try www.newegg.com and look at power supplies...

They have 500watt+ power supplies that would handle that vid card :)

Cheap too!
