Shamefaced~yes. Shamefaced may sound derogatory but all it really means is extremely modest or shy; bashful.

Silent~no. When Paul was instructing that a woman should keep silent, he was referencing the fact that back then if a woman didn't understand something she would holler at her husband (who was across the room) to have him explain it. Paul was trying to stop this from disrupting the service. Nowadays, women read the Bible just much (if not more than) most men so we don't need to holler to our husband's to explain anything.

I believe it is important for women and men to worship, while in church. I sing, clap, and pray in my church. However, I do believe it is wrong for a woman to preach in church because the Bible clearly states that a woman should not usurp authority.

If women should be shamefaced and silent in church, so too should men. Women aren't the only ones who sin. Men do too.

Why do you think a women should be shamefaced in church? God loves women too and there is nowhere that says she should be ashamed... that would insult God.

Everyone should be quiet and humble at church unless singing or they offer a time in the service or mass for a greeting of peace.
