Because everyone has the right to choose what they do with their own body. If they choose to kill themselves by smoking, then more power to them.

If the non smokers don't like how the smoke smells, then they can stay out of the places that allow smoking. I think a private business has the right to decide if they will allow smoking or not.

Doesn't matter!! It's already banned state wide in Arizona. I love it! cuz now when i go into a public building i can actually breath. I've chosen not to smoke just like 80% of americas have chosen not to smoke. so why should the majority of people who don't smoke suffer. only place you can smoke is in the privacy of your own home and/or outside away from any public building/entrance. I LOVE IT!!! :)

You should either make cigarettes illegal like pot and cocaine; or allow it in specified areas only where it does not impact others. Banning public smoking is just a way to keep the tobacco companies making money and the government collecting taxes while you try to look like you are addressing the concerns about smoking.

Because the stupid people who continue to insist on smoking no matter how bad for them it is, will eventually all die out and the ones who watch it all go down and decide not to do, it or to stop doing it, will inherit the earth.

Honestly I don't really care if you smoke or not. I've quit and I urge my husband to keep it to a minimum at work... but thats because I want him to be healthy.

I used to not care about all the smoking warnings, but it came down to one day when I cut down on it because I was broke, suddenly every cigarette I smoked made me feel like @ss and left a horrible feeling in my throat and a bad tasting mouth for DAYS no matter how much I brushed my teeth or gargled.

I figured that was a sign that it was pretty BAD for me.

Later I learned that overtime the addictive chemicals in cigarettes have been increasing.

I don't need to stupid @ss company who couldn't possibly care less getting money out of me while trying to keep me addicted to a harmful substance... I mean WTF??? I won't have anything to do with it! Its insane!

Keep doing it if you wanna, you may not be stupid like I said at the beginning, but when you do something harmful over and over and over again and ignore the consequences... well... what would you call that??

Keep it legal.. but I vote that since alcohol and ciggs are legal maryjane oughtta be too!!

The most important, inalienable right we have is the right to be stupid and wrong. Smoking is expensive, unesthetic, and clearly bad for one's health. But the habit also provides a small, honest pleasure for many people. Let people control their own bodies and use their own brains.

Because the government gets their share of the money.....
Why should alcohol be legal??? More DUI's causing more harm to innocent people driving drunk...Don't see anyone doing anything about increasing taxes on alcohol...

Smokers have rights too....we pay the taxes, we can smoke. Our choice....life is choice.

cuz people have the right to get lung cancer as long as they dont hurt someone than its ok. But actually its bad because little kids suffer from breathing in smoke.

it will never be banned, because the state and federal government make billions in tax revenue.

You mean altogether? If so, because people have a right to make their own choices as long as the choice doesn't cause you to alter your mind and hurt someone.
