I got a new fish sunday for my new tank which has been cycling for a week or so. I noticed yesterday he had a wart like sore on him and its still there. There is stress coat + aquarium salt in the tank which is not sea salt. Any ideas what it is? Thanks for the help.

It is not ich. It is gone now and what is left is like a scab.

Without knowing more, my first thought it a columnaris infection. That is tretable with a good antibiotic such as Maracyn TC or Furan-2 or Furanace. Just treat as directed on the package for 10-14 days. It is contagious to some extent, so it would be advisable to treat the entire tank and not try to move the bala to a treatment tank.

If it's a cottony looking growth it's a fungus. If it looks like a grain of salt, it's ich.
