Is there a saying or proverb you try to live your life by? Do you simply have a favorate saying? What is it, and why? Mine is "If it is worth doing at all, it is worth doing right." I tell myself this when I start a project, as a reminder to myself not to get lazy and cut corners.

Actually I have two favorite sayings:
the first one comes form a book I read in the late 1960's as a young kid. It was from a book about an orphan family who had escaped communism in Czechoslovakia in the early 1950's. One of the sayings in the book was from a young orphan who had a saying from Czechoslovakia (now split into two countries called "The Czech Republic and Slovakia".)
The saying is: DO THE BEST YOU CAN AND GOD WILL PROSPER YOUR EFFORT". Sort of similar to an old American saying of "The Lord helps those who help themselves."
The second saying was taught to me by my great grandmother who was born in 1880 in Brooklyn. The saying goes like this, "YOU NEVER MISS THE WATER TILL THE WELL RUNS DRY."
That saying is almost self explanatory. It means for me that we don't miss anything until we no longer have it in our presence or possession.

Heck yeah, my favorite saying is from Scarface:
"In this country, you gotta make the money. Then when you get the money, you get the power. Then when you get the power, you get the women."
Hehe, that's the quote I live my life by.
