It means that there are still some people left who understand what the flag represents, and it is NOT slavery as so many whould like to believe. It means that there are people left who know about history and not what brainwashing they have been given.

It's a defining symbol of South Carolina's history. The Confederate Flag means a lot to a great many Southerners.
The state flags of Virginia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama and Texas were all carried into battle at the head of Southern Regiments.
Should these flags be done away with as well...??? How about the Star Spangled Banner..?? It is the only American Flag that was ever flown by slave ships.
The Confederate Battle Flag was hi-jacked as a symbol of ugly racism by white supremacists and other hate groups. But keep in mind these same groups also wave American Flags.
The Confederate Battle Flag has a place in our society and it pays tribute to the many thousand young Southern men who gave their lives for the most noble ideas of Southern Independence.
Far too often, the American Civil War is distilled into a very simple black-white image that is far from the reality of the defining struggle of this nation.

That S.C. is still 50 years behind the times? That what the rest of the country thinks about the south isn't a sterotype, it's reality? Those are things that come to mind.
