I was reading a book called witness to the execution about amelia earhart being shot down by the japanese and she was executed in japan and her body is somewhere in japan in the groung rotting? Is this true?

That's always been a good theory ... amongst others. Personally, I like the one put forth on ST:TNG -- she's on a planet with other "disappeared" and "dead" people! LOL

Most researchers believe the plane ran out of fuel and Earhart and Noonan ditched at sea. Others believe that the flight had ended in the Phoenix Islands (now part of Kiribati), some 350 miles southeast of Howland Island.The rest are just conspiracy theories without any evidence.

It could be. No one knows for certain. There was speculation that she was spying for the United States so if she did go down in area occupied by the Japanese, it's likely.

There are many theories as to what happened to her. As far as I know, no one has ever proven any of them.
