Well stated. I've never thought of it in those terms.

I haven't spoken to any "Pro-Abortionists" as you claim exist. So you're saying the Pro- Choice "movement" today has the same ideology as Christian slave owners following the words in the bible? Slavery IS SUPPORTED BY THE BIBLE! Major slave owners were CHRISTIAN! That attitude was OK then, but somehow immoral today? I think you chose an improper basis for comparison, but that is to be expected from sheep. Another thing to take note of: even when slavery was abolished, white Christian Americans still segregated black people, and the most famous Christian organization, the Ku Klux Klan, still openly hates all non-white, non-Christian people. Funny how the attitudes towards blacks fifty years ago is the same attitude that Christians have towards homosexuality today. You gotta think positive: today's abortion could just have eliminated another homosexual from society! Isn't that what you all want anyway? If you want to point fingers about historical hatred and "justified" killing, make sure you're looking in the mirror before you whip that index finger out.

I am pro-choice and I don't think it's a matter of the value of life at all--for my own arguments at least.
First, I'll let you know that I do believe that I believe life begins at conception. However, I do realize that a general consensus hasn't been proved by scientists yet on when life begins. How can we base a law on something that isn't even a fact?
Fact: A slave was a human being there was never a doubt about that. The doubt was his/her quality of life not so much right to life.
The dictionary definition of 'life' is:
"existence in the physical world: the quality that makes living animals and plants different from dead organisms and inorganic matter. Its functions include the ability to take in food, adapt to the environment, grow, and reproduce."
Can a fetus take in food, adapt to the environment, grow, and reproduce while living in the womb without the help of it's mother? That's up to you to decide.
The point is your statements and assumptions about pro-choice and pro-slavery aren't in any way connected. They are similar but in no way can they be compared.

Interesting points, I would only disagree on small issues, for example I doubt that the waiting lists would cover all the minority babies, crack babies, deformed babies. But that does not matter because if you truly value these lives you will provide for their care with tax dollars. And you will stop shaming women who have kids out of wedlock, that was one big reason for abortions in the old days. And you will teach people to use birth control methods, stop with the stupid abstinence only education. All these things together would mean that you don't have to make abortion illegal, they will continue to decline on their own which is the right and proper conservative non-intrusive way to handle this quesiton.

Yes I have noticed that. Same argument=same mindset. The slave owners didn't see blacks as human beings & pro abortionists don't see fetuses, even if potentially viable outside the womb as human beings.

The Bible was often used to justify slavery, I don't think that has been true of abortion.
"[Slavery] was established by decree of Almighty God...it is sanctioned in the Bible, in both Testaments, from Genesis to Revelation...it has existed in all ages, has been found among the people of the highest civilization, and in nations of the highest proficiency in the arts." Jefferson Davis, President of the Confederate States of America. 1,2
"There is not one verse in the Bible inhibiting slavery, but many regulating it. It is not then, we conclude, immoral." Rev. Alexander Campbell
"The right of holding slaves is clearly established in the Holy Scriptures, both by precept and example." Rev. R. Furman, D.D., Baptist, of South Carolina
"The hope of civilization itself hangs on the defeat of ***** suffrage." A statement by a prominent 19th-century southern Presbyterian pastor, cited by Rev. Jack Rogers, moderator of the Presbyterian Church (USA).
"The doom of Ham has been branded on the form and features of his African descendants. The hand of fate has united his color and destiny. Man cannot separate what God hath joined." United States Senator James Henry Hammond

This is an interesting and though out idea.
Ironically, it is Democrats that were the racists in the KKK and the ones that blocked the Civil Rights. It is also the Democrats that are the hard core folks on abortion.
I did not know this and did not think of it.
