I know Howard is not a fan of Opie and Anthony, but I wonder how he feels about this since some might see this as a free speech versus artistic license issue.

Why do people do this? They answer questions with "i don't care", or "does it really matter". Why bother answering then? You're as big a jackass as Stern or Opie and Anthony. Please only answer the question - I don't really care what you personally think of Stern or Opie and Anthony.

Heard him comment a little on this this morning.

He thinks the problem with Opie and Anthony is that they aren't funny and, more importantly, their ratings on terrestrial radio suck and they aren't generating revenue.

He said he heard the bit, and he just thought it wasn't funny and that you can pass off something like that as a joke only if it's funny.

Also, if advertisers were still paying tons of money or they had huge ratings their employers would be much more willing to withstand more criticism. But their employers aren't going to put up with the hassle for someone who isn't bringing in any revenue. That's why CBS was so quick to fire Imus even after they first said he would only be suspended for two weeks. Once the advertisers went away CBS knew they wouldn't come back because his ratings stunk.

Stern wants them fired because he is afraid of competition that is why he always talks smack about anyone who is doing as good as him, he did it for years with Imus and he did it for years with O and A. Stern wants them gone before the merger with XM and Sirius but it will bea huge mistake is XM cancels them, as is due to the suspension 40,000 subscriptions have been cancelled already. XM is shooting themselves in the foot if they make this move. Stern has not generated nearly enough subscriptions for Siriues and O and A have a lot of listeners, more then people realize.

One thing many people in this country do not understand is that with freedom of speech comes the duty of using it responsibly. The Founding Fathers did not have lowlifes like Howard Stern and Opie and Anthony in mind when they framed the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

That aside, I couldn't care less what that vulgar lowlife freak thinks of Opie and Anthony's suspension. (Two more vulgar lowlife freaks)

XM was looking for the first excuse to dump O&A before the merger. Howard is seen as the one to fill the top shock jock slot and O&A would just be trouble for him. Howard want's O&A gone, he has said before that his personal freedom of speech is the only freedom of speech that he is concerned with.

I'm not sure what he exactly said but I think he wants them to get fired.
