Enlightenment is not about reaching the end and reaching the goals of always doing this or that, but instead Enlightenment is the idea that you realise what needs to happen, and make an attempt at doing it.
No-one is perfect, and no-one can do the right thing everytime. But everyone can strive to do the right thing.
Reading your Bible will help you with this.

I think it is a lot because we are all humans, and we forget that, on the whole all humans are is an animal, that is what we fight and many times many people do it according to the values of the world that they live in. Sometimes we betray ourselves because we want people to like us when they should really not matter to us at all, I mean in a way that they do. All of us have to care about other people, and we have to care about the way that we present ourselves, but as long as we are not actually doing anything that is hurting another person perhaps their judgement of you shouldn't really be what is the most important. They have their hidden agendas too, and those might not always be morally or ethically correct either, they may be trying to fit into something that isn't really them and find themselves being even more judgemental then they would have before. Self is always the most important thing, if one is not friend to self then they are an enemy to the world and I really think that is true and if one is a friend to themself then they don't have a major need to judge others because they are to busy trying to be satisfied with themself, does that make sense?

Enlightenment begins with being open to the notion that the beliefs that we have are the cause of our suffering.
Moralists and ethicists suffer the most. The most we begin to judge ourselves or others, we fall into the trap of experiencing suffering.
Selfish and selfless, for example, are judgments that you make about yourself. When you stop judging yourself (and others) your experience of the world will begin to change. An action may be selfish or selfless, when we move the judgment to the self, problems abound (I'm selfish versus I did something that was a selfish act.)
Until you decide to allow for this, you will experience what you have described.

The way to enlightenment is very narrow and full of troubles. You will find that the experience of these troubles will help you on your path. Do not allow these feelings to trouble you, doing so will sway your vision, let them become a part of you, that you can explore more deeply and understand, through understanding, you will find enlightenment, not fear, not hatred. Your path has been set before you, allow yourself to use these difficulties to better prepare you for what lies ahead. You will attain enlightenment in the end. I am looking forward to your journey. Your desire to find enlightenment is all you need now. focus your meditation inward, do not search elsewhere, you will find it within yourself.

It sounds as though the path you are trying to go down isn't for you.
or
You can let it go for the sake of it. Simply let things happen because you believe in the path. If you are supposed to be selfless and you are supposed to believe you are all connected, you should fake it for a while. It will get easier, and eventually you will be able to do it and follow the eight-fold path.

Look very deeply inside and picture yourself outside of your
immediate enviornment and all it's drama. Then ask
yourself, "what truly makes me deeply happy?" Is it a
sunset, animals, warm sand, feeling the wind in your hair,
being in nature, etc., or just being with people you love
and who love you for who you truly are? Spend all of
your time in these pursuits and none of your time in
things that make you angry or sad. Enlightenment is
built in to take over when you let go of worldly problems.

in depends on your religion, i am Catholic, but the Buddhist Eight-Fold path is a good way to let things go. remind yourself that you must let your positive chi flow (i am a feng-shui freak!) if you hurt yourself, it is not your fault. just say 'ow' or something. dont swear! use proper language. keep your head high and shoulders back, and remember your purpose and its meaning. if you become selfish, dont worry. not everyone is perfect, but strain yourself from doing this. (it took me FOREVER to do that) just let yourself go from all stress. Have something that symbolizes the number 3 because that is positive and lucky. I am Korean and in Korea, dragons are quite lucky. they represent fortune, good will, strength, prosperity, and wisdom. i like to keep a miniature one with me. (chinese dragons work fine too) dont try to feel negative, feel positive. dont try to feel positive BE POSITIVE!
