Well, my name's Wendy. And I basically just signed up on this thing to get a question answered of mine. Um, my boyfriend and I are thinking about getting married. I'm 17 and he's 20. Um, how old do I have to be to get married? I hear even at 18 in California you have to have parental consent? Is this true? Let me know, please, thanks.

In CA, at 18 you don’t need parental consent, but if you’re under 18 you need parental consent AND a court order approving the marriage.

You're not going to like this, but you two have a 90% chance of being divorced in 5 years. You are both too young. Do your parents know? Neither of you is ready for the responsibilities of marriage. No premarital sex, because neither of you is ready for the consequences of that, either. Here's my advice. Get an education, graduate from college, GROW UP, date other people, and THEN get married.
