It was a salvaged car but the frame was good. I was going to use it for parts to fix my son's car that he wrecked, but it ended up being easier to make the salvage car new again. Now I am hearing I can't get a title. The car is awesome.

It all depends on the title type in Florida. If it was sold to you on a "Parts Only" bill of sale or a "non-rebuildable salvage" title, you're done because it can't ever be put back on the road!
If it was sold to you as a "rebuildable salvage" title you're o.k. My understanding is that a dmv inspector must inspect the vehicle and if they find it is properly rebuilt, then a rebuilt salvage title can be issued. Also, if the VIN plate is missing the dmv can assist with that. There may also be some charges for their services. Good Luck!

Jeff, My impact is they're inquiring for a Florida Police Officer to substantiate the VIN. it is standard technique whilst bringing a motor vehicle from yet another state. Florida purely needs a police officer to substantiate the motor vehicle isn't stolen in the past they difficulty a Florida identify. First, ask the DMV in Florida if a state of Florida officer has to substantiate the VIN or can an officer in long island verify it. that supplies you a concept of what you're up against. in the event that they'll settle for an prolonged island officer's verification, you are able to call the interior of sight police branch the place the automobile is placed and ask in the event that they'll study the motor vehicle and comprehensive the kind to substantiate the VIN on the motor vehicle. some do and others ought to not.

Contact your local DMV and ask them. The car is run through an inspection to check it for stolen parts before a new title can be issued in most states. There is always a solution.

... As someone said, you can get a rebuilder title (title branded) in the vin of the salvage if you use most of the parts off of it.

Actually read this for the info you need to know to register the car in Florida from the official Florida DMV website:

Get it retitled with a salvage disclaimer on the title.
