Tell about Eugene, OR area. I might have a job offer there. What can i expect?

Does it snow in the winter? Is it overly cold or hot. College in area? Night Life?

Eugene is cool!
Beautiful, lots of parks, very green, tons of bike and jogging paths, two malls, downtown shopping, big box store shopping areas, several multi-plex theaters, some with stadium seating, a great independent/art theater, cultural events, the original "Saturday Market", very loose and easy going.

Home to the University of Oregon, one of Oregon's major universities; as well as several smaller colleges and a good community college.

very little snow, except in the hills, a few inches a year for a week or two; hot summers (80-90); rainy winters, but enough breaks between showers to take a walk or bike ride.

An hour to the beach, an hour to the mountains and snow sports, two hours to Portland.

it does not snow there usually. it is a small city, kinda quiet at night. there is a big university there (U of Oregon) which should add a little edge to the culture. portland, which is a very cool place, is only a short ride to the north.

overall, eugene is a lot better than all small the cities in the midwest or south.

Lots and Lots of college kids. Small amount of snow and get pretty warm in the summer.

Tell them that you are interested in there position and then say that you would like the weekend to weigh your options. If they have a problem with giving you 3 days, they might not be a company that you want to work for.

It's out in the middle of nowhereresville. Think your bored now ? Go there ! No snow. No college. Big night life is going to KFC.
