If I stay and have paid the full amount listed on my lease do I owe any more? In other words the total amount due for my lease example it says $7215 for the entire length of my lease if I can prove I have paid that amount I shouldn't owe any more right? Also if I file bankruptcy and claim the lease can I stay till Jan 2008? Thanks!!

It sounds like you are leaving out some important info. If the lease should have expired in 2007 why have you waited an extra 5 months before bringing this up. By waiting you have ultimately agreed to the lease expiring on 2008. No you won't be able to hose the owner by filing bankruptsy. You better be making some arrangement real fast.

If your lease should of expired in Jan 2007, you are now on a month to month basis and he can chose to terminate the lease by giving you a 30 day notice. Also note, he can take you to small claims court for the rest of the rent due (Jan-till now) and make sure it gets sent to the credit bureaus.

Do the rigt thing or it will come back to haunt you.

This is pretty much a standard question with a real easy answer. Do the right thing. Your landlord worked hard for his property and money. The money he gets from his rents pays for his expenses, his kids schooling and hospitalization etc. You are using his property and you should pay him that monthly fee that you have agreed to. very simple. anything else is just plain stealing from someone that helpoed you out by trusting you to keep his home in good condition and follow the basic rules
PS any judge will nail you to the wall for trying something like this!!!
