I have a 4 port USB hub, the hub connection is a mini usb on the hub its self to a standard usb to the computer. I have 2 computers, and I am geting tired of constantly switching the hub wire between computers, I want to connect BOTH my computers to the hub at the same time. Im not doing anything complex like trying to use a joystick or camera on 2 computers at once. My main use between the two is my external storage drives.

All the ports on most hubs are identical. You can plug USB cables from each in at the same time and still have two empty jacks for your storage drives. Don't make it complicated. That is what hubs are for.

I use a wireless hub and create a wireless network and share my printer and external hard drive. There is a way to do this you just have to spend the time creating a network on each device.

I use a wireless router .One monitor, one mouse and a click and you switch from pc a to pc b.The netgear wireless router is what you need.
