A classic tv refrence to this song is in the show, The Simpsons, where Bart switches hymn music with "In the Garden of Eden" by I.Ron Butterfly. :)

Iron Butterfly--in a Gadda da Vida (perhaps one of the longest songs ever, a classic late night 70's FM choice)
Also--it is a veiled reference to the biblical "in the garden of Eden".

the song was, originally, in a garden of eden but, when the singer sang it, it came out the other way so, they simply changed the title.
