Ignore them it is not gross. SOme people are not comfortable going sockless. I have been going sockless sicne I was 10 (now 34) and some people thing I am crazy not wearing sox in the winter time

Why would that be gross? If you had stinky feet or shoes, then it would be gross. If it is simply because they view it as a fashion no-no, I wouldn't care. If that is what you find comfortable, don't worry about it. I go without socks all the time and I couldn't care less what anyone else thought!

start wearing socks.. if you don't like the long socks, get the shorter socks.. even bootie sock...
cause socks normally help absorb sweat to reduce a smell of funk to begin... you still can get a bit of a funk if you are a heavy sweater...so apply a bit of powdor as well inside your sneakers and some to your feet before you put on socks..

Tell them that you wear peds, socks that cannot be seen when wearing shoes. If you don't have smelly shoes or feet, it's not a problem, and really none of their concern anyway.

always wear socks with sneakers.(not saying I've never done that)but it ruins your shoes,eventually the insides will fall out and makes most shoes smell bad

Well I'll say wear thin socks.( Thats what there called) Thinsocks are socks but very thin...very. The look like your wearing socks but your not.
And you don't want to buy them just be yourself don't let them offend you.

Many people consider it inappropriate to go out without socks. Just wash your socks every night like most guys do
