Cherrapunji, in the Indian state of Meghalaya, just across the border with Bangladesh, is the wettest place on earth. I've known this since 1961 and you can check it at http://www.extremescience.com/wettest.htm

The second wettest is Mount Waialeale, Kauai, Hawaii.

Lloro, Colombia, holds an unofficial (estimated) record.

The west (Pacific) coast of Colombia from Buenaventura northwards, in the province of Choco, is always extremely wet. Cherrapunji gets all its rain during the wet monsoon and is dry for half the year, with water shortages!
