Sirius just gave Jamie Foxx his own urban comic channel. The channel is called "The Foxxhole". Pretty funny stuff. They play Richard, Eddie, Chris Rock and Martin on the channel.

This may be what your looking for.

Support Grows for Cancelled Black Radio Host

While cancelled WMNF radio host Connie Burton proceeds through the Tampa community station's internal grievance process, community support for her reinstatement grows.

Community activists have picketed the radio station's office and Public Affairs Director, Rob Lorei's home. (see sptimes.com - search for "Connie Burton") Callers to Lorei's and other live programs on the non-commercial station have protested the removal of Burton's "Straight Talk," a black working class talk show that has aired every Sunday from 9:00am - 10:00am on 88.5 FM in Tampa for the last 9 years. Burton's supporters can be seen distributing leaflets and gathering petition signatures on street corners around Tampa, where she is well-known for her civic activism.

According to Burton, "I am receiving calls from around the country, including from numerous black radio hosts who are experiencing the same kind of censorship when it comes to speaking the truth about what is going on in our community. We are seeing an increasing restriction of free speech that attempts to limit political expression and deny poor and working African people our right to organize in our own interests.

Our people are facing daily attacks from the police, discriminatory treatment in the courts, our children forced into hostile environments in the schools, our neighborhoods being gentrified and families driven into homelessness. WMNF says it stands for social and economic justice. I say, for whom?"

For more information, contact the Committee for Racial and Social Justice at WMNF at 813-298-8162 or 727-698-3092.

radio i would assume, is supposed to be free of racial divisions, how do you know the difference between the race of the person on a radio program. Better question why do you need to know? Stop stereotyping yourself by assuming that people of different races need to sound different. If you want equality, stop painting a backwards, hypocritical, half-***'d picture of the solution, but if you prefer to categorize radio programs by racial standards, there isn't anything wrong with the situation you describe. Minorities are the minority, there are less "Jews," "Native Americans," "Blacks" (your word not mine) out there than there are "Whites", thus the percentages are mathematically OK, more Hispanics, more demand for Hispanic radio. common sense, radio is for everybody, stop making it just for you.

Color aside, if anyone should be considered for the big leagues of radio broadcasting, Kirk McEwen is it (formerly of 98 Rock, WIYY). Besides he'd outgrown the confines of the D.C./Baltimore market years ago, IMO. Professionally, Kirk's been more than ready for the national spotlight for ages. (RIP, dear Lopez)
