Ah, but what you might call ugly, another might call interesting.
I like your overall description. And a squint can be charming. I would need to see a picture before I knew for sure though. I don't trust the self-description "ugly" for the above reason and because low self-esteem can lead a person to see themselves as ugly when it's not so.
