There are far more convincing faiths in the world than Christianity...so full of silly holes, it is almost ridiculous...IF you had not been spoon fed this crap since a baby, would you, as an adult, fall for such nonsense? Be honest with yourself..would you? I believe in God, I believe in sin, and my life is guided, not by fools casting fire and brimstone, but by "do unto others as you would have them do unto you." That is the only rule you need in life to be a good person. Put down the Christ stuff, it is a bunch of cult nonsense. Christ was declared a "god' by the Catholic Church in the 400 AD's...and Rome declared all Caesars "god" ...do you worship the ancient Caesars? No....there is little difference..a bunch of insanity rules Christianity. Keep in mind that all the churches put together make no sense, they prey on your strongest fear, DEATH..and sell you "life ever lasting" if you pay the price! Christians support the ministers, etc, with their hard earned cash, while the pastors live the life of Riley...nice job if you can get it. I can't, nor do I want to live my life in a fairy tale. conflicted...hell no. And I am not going to go to some mythical place called Hell. Good luck

Actually, quite a few Christian churches no longer preach this hate and have reexamined the original text of the bible.

You might want to check out Metropolitan Community Church or a Unitarian. Several others as well.

Yes, many do. The important thing is not to turn your back on your spirituality because of what others have said to you about it or the way they have represented it. Each of us goes to God to reach our salvation. Pray about this. Read the Bible. And make your own peace with God. You can be gay and be a Christian too. But reconcile to your faith. You will feel better, and be the healthier for it.

Remember, the only thing you have to do to be saved is accept the Lord as your savior, believe in him, and accept His grace.

God bless, and good luck.

Yeah before i came out i was well known in our church community but when they found out they gave me dirty looks and even the sermon was directed at me. It took me and the church a month or two to get used to it all. The thing is: l do belief in God so that's why i ignored them and kept my faith up!
i also belief that God is definitely not like that. Come on, he accepted the prostitutes and the child molesters why not us homosexuals!!! :-)

Several Biblical passages are both open to interpretation as well as being contradictory.

You do not have to be a member of the Christian Community or attend Church to be a true Christian.

"And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you." Matthew 6:5-6

If I were you, I would define for myself what makes a person a Christian in the first place. This is how I line it up.
A Christian is a Christian because he or she puts their trust in God through Jesus Christ. God promises things in the Bible and a Christian will believe it. They trust God to fulfill His word, whatever God says, he will do.

What I think that you have been a victim of is Legalism. It runs rampant in the Christian church, and I haven't any time for it when it comes my way.

I am a Christian, and I know that God is trustworthy. It doesn't mean that I am anything other than a truster of God. I think that your church has misled you to think that you have to be li9ke they want you to percieve them to be. But there are Lesbians in churches all over America that love God, and remain faithful to Him by serving him. Not because they are perfect people, but because they are responding to the call that God has given them.

Those at your church want you to make yourself better for God. And when you understand the Bible, that is not possible.

Man cannot tell you how God feels. You don't need priests, a church, or the approval of self-righteous "Christians" to tell you what God thinks about you. Christ did come to Earth and He died for our sins but unfortunately man in his greed and lust for power has manipulated and tainted His word into something totally twisted and perverse. Find your own answers, don't listen to any brow-beating fanatics who arrogantly claim to speak on behalf of God or anyone here for that matter.

I think the goal should be to find a church that agrees with the majority of what you believe. Being gay is not who you are, it is a part of you but not ALL of you. You should go to church to be able to grow closer to God. You'll never find a church that you can agree with on everything. It's just not possible.

ya...i feel like my religion (christianity) does conflict with my being les. but the thing is...i will always believe in god..and i'll follow my faith despite what others may think about my sexuality because i am not going to be pushed out of having a relationship with god just because of my orientation...plus i feel that all people should be able to believe what they feel to be true...isn't that why we have the freedom to worship in our own religions??

Dear, Christianity is also against divorce, and divorced people still go.

Y'all are hung up on such weird stuff, I just don't get it.
