I asked almost everyone I know, and very few people know about them, atleast where I live. I'd have to say they are the best band in the world, hands down. Anyone else out there who thinks Social D is the epitomy (don't think i spelled that right) of rock?

Also, I think their best song is "Angels Wings", if you get a chance, listen to them. :)

i don't think social d are the best, but they are damn great. their first record back in 86 killed. one of the first bands i know of to combine country music and punk rock. mike ness is amazing. check out his solo records. his first one Cheating at Solitare is amazing. he got bruce springsteen to do a song with him "crime don't pay"
his 2nd solo, under the influences is all old county and rockabilly songs.

Social Distortion was a great band of the 80's & 90's. I saw them myself with Neil Young and Sonic Youth in '91, also in IL. Favorite song is their cover of Ring Of Fire.
Let in burn motherf*cker!
Btw, they're starting up a new tour this summer beginning with a couple of startup concerts in Cal. before starting in earnest June 29 in Urbana, IL.

Yes, I've heard of them. I have an older brother and he used to listen to them all the time. We grew up in the 80's when they were super popular.
