I've been to to six or seven different stores including Target, Wal Mart and Best Buy and no one can keep the Wii game consoles on their shelves. The guy at Best Buy said they got six of them this month and that they stayed in the store for about 20 minutes. Why is Nintendo having such distribution problems? Are they planning on giving the U.S. a consistent distribution of consoles any time soon? Does anyone know of a place I can get one for the original $299 MSRP and not the jacked up price of up to $650 that I am finding on the internet where it will actually be in the store and not sold out within an hour of an incoming shipment?

I was lucky that I got mine about 3 weeks ago. I guess Nintendo can't keep up with the high demands of the the console. :)

Depends on where you live. I live in San Antonio and I went to the poor side of town and they had 3 just sitting there in the cabinets and the lady said they had been there a week. So if you have that opportunity try that, If not. Try ebay you can BUY IT NOW for 299 plus 30 s&h charges. There is also a Gamestop by my house and I was unaware that they had them. But they have a few on their shelves at all times. 249$ Good luck to you!

Yes it is very frustrating about the Wii. I had to wait everyday for 2 weeks at 7:00 in the morning for a shipment. Sure enough one day Fed-Ex came. There were about 8 of us and there were 9 Wiis. Horrible!!!! But it was completly worth it because the Wii is my favourite game system created by nintendo.

It's all the people could think about getting right now.
If you remember when the PS2 came out, there was a rage with that - the same with the Wii system. You will have to be patient with the stores since every store is totally different with when they have the Wii system available. When everyone gets a Wii, there will be plenty of them in store and you will eventually get one, that is if it'll be available by then.

Nintendo says that they're cutting back on DS production so they can make more Wiis, but they didn't release any production forecasts or anything. Hopefully, you'll start seeing more of them in stores soon.

Also, the MSRP is $250, not $300.

There is a Wii shortage right now. You could probably get one of Ebay or Amazon for about $400, which is less than $650. Otherwise you'll just have to wait to the shortage ends.

well i got mine from the first ones and it was easy but now it a little hard cause the wii has grown its popularity and nintendo is planning to produce more wiis to please the demands but for now look every day in all the stores or you could just make everything easier but more expensive by buying one on ebay but i also think of that as a ripoff

Just go to a game store or a department store where other people are less likely to shop. If you go to a game store that isnt in a mall or adjacent to a shopping center you will probably find one there.

The Wii costs $249.99 the reason why Nintendo is having trouble is because there is too much high demand.
