Was it wrong to tell my friend to buy bigger clothes because she looks like a busted can of biscuits?

I only told her this. She has meat popping from her bra, back, stomach, sides, and everyone keeps laughing at her. She told me to be brutally honest, but now I feel bad.

Should I have been that honest?

I think you should call up one of those horrible daytime talk shows and put her on the program. It seems to be the only your friend will learn. If she is really fat and gross , dye her hair black and put her on " The View " .Nobody will notice the difference .

Never listen to someone that tells you to be brutally honest, nothing good will come of it. Instead, you should have told her in a different way, would you really want someone to tell you that you look like a busted can of biscuits?

I do agree with you that girls who allow themselves to "muffin top" (excess fat and skin bulges out wherever it can) are considerably less attractive than girls of the same size who just wear their size and deal with it. But I don't agree with you that obvious truths should always be noted. She asked for brutal honesty, but you know girls! You can never be brutally honest, only hinting at honesty. It would have been fine to say that her clothes actually look a bit too tight, and let her fill in the blanks, but you took it a step too far and now she may feel bad about herself. The only thing to do now is to learn from this mistake, and apologize, apologize, apologize!

Hello. I would say that you should've been NEARLY that honest. Even though she asked for your honest reply, she's still a hurting person in the inside with a fragile psyche! So you could've used just a bit more tact to tell her, but even if you would say it again... say it in as supportive tone as you can... and try to be somewhat empathetic. Should she request your input again, look her right in the face while holding her hand and tell her straight... with kindness. Then go beyond by doing something actively to actually help her. Be a friend... the blessing will return to you.

Yes! She told u to be honest! Your her friend, and I would want my friend to tell me that!! Plus I think it's better that you did if she had that much meat !! lol, but u shouldn't feel bad! She'll get over it. As long as ur not like that ALL the time.... I think u did the right thing and ur pretty cool for doing it. Most ppl don't have the balls to.

I think what you did was RIGHT! And you wouldn't be a true friend if it didn't hurt for you to have to tell her the uncensored truth.

It hurts to discipline my daughter at times, BUT I would be less of a parent if I didn't, because it's for her good.

Hopefully, your friend will think about your words and think twice before walking out the door in clothes that are to little going forward.
You often wonder when you see mainly women, walking around looking RI-DAMN-DICULOUS, if they have friends who are lying to them about how they look!

i would have said she was a 5 pound sausage in a one pound skin, but the busted can of biscuits is just as funny! yeah, it was very hurtfully honest but she asked for it.

You could have said it in a nicer way by saying something like, this outfit does not flatter your figure, maybe you should try on a bigger size.

Listen Cookie no it wasnt wrong like one time my friend asked me if she was fat and I said yes, well she wears a gerdal or however you spell it she kinda got mad but its true she honestly looks like shes preg. if people ask me Im gonna tell them staight up I know its wrong that way but somebodys gotta do it.
