I ran into an old friend a few weeks ago. She is female. We dated most of junior high and high school but after high school we faded away. I recently started to go to new church, adn she is in my Sunday School class. She welcomed me in, and a few weeks later sent me an email about the class and how she was glad I was coming. She made a comment that the last few years of her life haven't been necessarily fun. When I sent her an email about what she has been up to the last 10 years, her response was "Not much has happened in the last 10 years, pretty sad huh?" My first reacation was that she is blowing me off, and she still may, but my sister says she may just be down because most of her friends may be married and have kids by now. So I can understand that, but yet, I still get this unfriendly feeling now. Do you ladies get down if you haven't acomplished all you thought you would by a certain age? Should I just leave her alone, and let her come around?

first off every girl is different... so i can only comment on things that I am familiar with and my first thought is:

darling she initiated the conversation. she drew you into her life’s situation, she asked for the attention. and her comment of pretty sad huh? begs you to respond to it. she maybe fishing for compliments, and reassurance that her life is less then dull. but she may also be inviting you to enter her life as more then a church goer. she may want a friend out of you. i suggest you talk to her, and let her talk to you. she seems like she is looking for someone to help her change her routine. i don't suggest you ask her out just yet, let things brew as friends in church before you take your friend ship outside.

good luck.

i'm a guy, but it's likely that your sister is right. try to instead ask her what she's doing now.
