2. I'd say the turning point for the Russians on the Eastern front was the battle of Stalingrad. The Germans were focused here for months, and the fighting and the winter ground them down.
3. Pearl Harbor was the first battle in which Americans saw action in WWII, against the Japanese. The first time they saw action against the Germans and the Italians was in North Africa.
4. Women began working outside the home in traditionally male roles, such as in factories.
5. This caused problems after the war, since many did not want to give their jobs up to the returning troops.
6. Communism believes that the good of the many outweighs the good of the individual.
7. Eisenhower was the Supreme Allied commander.
