majority of the time yes but you never know if there looking to hire and your resume will be there so I'd give it a go.

No. I do not think that it is pointless. I sent resumes out all over to different places that did not have a "Hiring" signs or advertisements in the newspaper. I received several phone calls for interviews. I believe it is good to send resumes out to everyone you can think of. Because if they are not hiring right then and there they have you on file and can contact you when they are hiring.

No... because almost all companies keep resume's on hand in case they need to hire somebody right away. It saves them that waiting period when they need to post a job and wait for people that way

Oh no...not at all...I did that several years ago and really sent a good resume (just in case) and I got a call some months later for and interview...(got the job, too)

no, because it shows you have a intrest in working for their company.also things happen and they may need to replace someone for a lot of reasons.so go ahead it wont hurt to try.good luck.
