He is likely going through a growth spurt. If you have any concerns, discuss it with your son's pediatrition, but it certainly sounds like a normal, healthy, growing boy to me.

How lots is he taking comprehensive on a daily basis. If he's eating each and every 3 hours around the clock, it fairly is lots. If he's drowsing a million-2 longer stretches, and taking 4-5 bottles ... even 6 bottles an afternoon, it fairly is 32-40 8 oz., that's superb. (cutting-edge concept is that around 40 5-50 oz. is a useful optimal. previous limits of 32 oz. are previous -- according to 'previous style' hand-crafted formulation that have been harder to digest and created from cans of evaporated milk that made precisely 32 oz. of formulation!) he's lots too youthful for solids, and cereal could on no account be fed from a bottle, so overlook appropriate to the responses that say to stuff him with cereal. Solids are started around 6 months.

Yes. Try adding some baby cereal. If your baby is constantly taking that much formula then he is not getting satisfied with just a bottle. It has never hurt an infant at 2 months of age to add a little cereal to the bottle, make it runny and you will probably need a nipple with a little bigger hole. But it works. It worked with my kids and now my daughter has a 3 month old son who she had to start giving a little bit of cereal to at that same age. He even started sleeping thru the night cause he had a full tummy.

8oz every 2-3 hrs is a little on the high side. no you cannot just keep feeding a child - they will end up obese and with other serious health issues. especially with formula, he should be able to go at least 3hrs. and 8oz seems a bit high. I would seek some med advice if it continues. even if it is a growth spurt, that should only last a day ot two.

Try giving him 9 oz instead of 8 and see if he will take it. He is most likely going through a growth spurt and he will just keep eat more and more as he gets older.

This is about the time for a growth spurt so feeding will increase. Also, if you don't have it already, I would recommend getting the book What to Expect the First Year. It will tell you month by month what to expect from your baby and at doctors appointments. This book was my bible!!

I had the same question as you, when my six month was two months old, he ate so much that I called my mom and my mother-in-law. I thought that maybe he was hungry because the breast milk was thin. I found out from my family that he was due for a growth spurt and it was perfectly normal. Rest easy everything is fine.

A Growing spurt occurs right around the two month mark (one of many) don't worry this is very normal and very good- don't be surprised if he sleeps more often next week as well, this is common after the spurt!

Hey,
My son was like this and I was told that he was going through a growth spert...
What I did was try to make him last the 3hrs and between the feeds when he first got hungry was give him a little water.
If you are breastfeeding your baby will be more hungrier than formula fed babies.
Goodluck!

he is just having a growth spurt. His eating patterns will go up and down like that. just give him what he wants but don't be tempted to give him rice cereal, he really cannot digest it and it will set in his tummy for a while and he will end up getting less of his milk and he needs it! It is too hard on his tummy, too
