What is the best way to recover quickly from a bruised ankle?

How long does it usually take for a bruised ankle to heal or return to sport?

Ok.. this may sound stupid. I jumped off a 3 m ledge and landed on concrete. I didnt roll my ankle so im sure i didnt sprain it. I landed extremely hard onto my heels and more or less my heels are sore and ankles are extremely bruised. It has been about 10 days since the accident but im recovering fine. I can walk around on my toes but still have pain on my heels. Im thinking of playing soccer in 4days. Is this a bad idea? Or depending on how it feels, would i be able to tape it and play? first off it depends on how bad it is, usually about 1 - 2 weeks
but the best thing to do would be buy epsom salt, an ace bandage and have a washcloth ready

first you wet the washcloth with warm water

then pour about 1/3 - 1/2 of a cup of epsom salt (depending on washcloth size) onto the wet washcloth

then wrap the wet washcloth around the ankle and wrap the ace bandage around the washcloth

then put ice on it and elevate, that should help the bruise subside, and the welling and pain go way down

this helps alot

u can buy all the stuff u need at a dollar store

Ice (submerge the ankle completely in icy water in a bucket for 20 min.) is best. Don't get heat anywhere near it for at least 3 days, as that would invite swelling and that is the last thing you want. Those instructions are esp. true for a sprained ankle, but would apply to a bruised one as well.
