Just for a little more info, im stocking this vey slowly, mostly for safety of the fish, also because of lack of money lol.

I would probably put the betta in next, in a few weeks, then a few cories if I can, then rummy noses last in a few months

That sounds like a great list, I assume it's for your 40 gallon. I would stock like this:

5-6 male swordtails of several colors
1 male betta, but watch the swords, they can get a little nippy
10-12 rummynose, they look awesome a larger group
7-8 assorted corys. When I'm not breeding them, I like to mix up the species for variety and they still seem to group together just fine.

Hi, again Skittles. This is still for the 40 gallon corner tank, right? If so, the stocking looks GREAT to me. A nice, colorful active tank.

Make sure you put in at least 5 corydoras as they like to "swarm"..oops..I mean school :) I'd go with only 6 swordtails though. Those rummy noses (my 20 yr old daughter's fave of the tetras) will add lots of activity to the tank BUT...(there is always a BUT)...they are very, very sensitive to high nitrate levels. Definitely can't put in an uncycled tank and will always have to check the nitrates to make sure they don't go above 20 ppm...or they die. They aren't the hardiest of the tetras. I'd probably go with the Emperor or Cardinal tetra instead (but that's just because I like a little easier maintenance types for my small fish community tanks).

It depends on how big your tank is. If it's at least a 20 gallon tank, then 6-10 swordtails are good. 2 Cories are also a good choice.
