Yes. Doctor recommended this: Use Dial brand bar soap and wash feet 2 times a day in very warm water. THEN towel dry each foot and be diligent to get between each toe. Within a few days, you should notice an improvement. Also, buy shoes that are canvas uppers or have holes for air to move. Get an insert for the shoe that is for odor control. All these things should help. Make sure to do the foot washing and drying, that's what will help stop the smell. Good luck!

I have two boys with woof feet. (they take off there shoes and everyone says "Woof")
The cure is to get all his socks, and soak them over-night in bleach and water. Then throw all the socks, AND all his shoes into the washer with bleach and water. Air dry the shoes after washing.
Have him soak his feet again in bleach and water. You can use more than a teaspoon of bleach. About a quarter cup to a gallon of water.
As soon as son comes home from school or work, have him take off his shoes and leave them outside to dry and air out. Then have him wash his feet. (with just soap and water, my boys just ran the tap in the tub, and gave the feet a quick scrub, making sure to get between the toes,)Have him run around the house bare foot, or with just socks or sandals.
The foot odor is caused by bacteria. Bleach will kill the bacteria.
Right now his feet can be squeaky clean, but the bacteria are in his shoes and socks, just waiting to get back onto his feet, hence the shoe washing along with the socks.
Bacteria cannot multiply in a dry environment. So the longer he can do with out wearing shoes and sweating in them, the less his feet will smell. This worked like a charm for my boys

The problem starts with wearing shoes with no socks. The shoes need to be discarded. Then get a new pair and wear peds with them (thin nylon sock that covers a minimal amount of the foot and doesn't show) I buy my daughters peds at Nordstrom, but they sell them other places. Some are too large, and show with ballet flats so try them on. It is really quite disgusting to have smelly feet, I have experienced people who could smell up a room. If she has extremely sweaty feet she can use Certain Dry antiperspirant on the bottom of her feet at night to help reduce it.

My son at age 15 had the worst smelly feet that we had to put his gym shoe outside. I took him to the doctor and he told me to have him soak his feet in a 1/4 cup of bleach and a gal. of water. Also that his socks should be only white no colours or nylon.

I had the same problem for years Then a relative told me this and it actually works.
Go to the drug store and get some powdered boric acid. It's cheap and safe for external use. Dust inside each shoe and get him to dust his feet daily before putting on his shoes. Make sure that you do every pair of shoes he had worn or the fungus will transfer back.
You should notice a difference in a day or two but keep up the dusting for 1 week to eliminate recurrence.

Try deodorant on the feet, apply and let dry a few minutes before putting on socks and shoes. The army encourages this because sweaty feet can also cause blisters and fungus. Pro football players put deodorant on their feet before a cold game because dry feet keep you warmer.

how long are his toe nails? I've noticed that my feet get a little smelly if the nails need cutting. then after cutting them, I mix a drop or two of water in some baking soda to make a runny paste and put it around each toe nail. let it stay on for half an hour, then use the nail brush. fresh as a daisy

buy some Zinc tablets and have your son take the daily recomended does, that will help.
With his socks. throw out all the really nasty ones and buy new ones...once those stink, get a big pot and 2-3 lemons. cut up the lemons and throw them into the pot along with water (about 3/4 full) boil on med-high for 20 minutes and launder as usual

Use Roll-On Deodorant. Make sure the feet are dry, then apply the deodorant to the feet. You may want to try baking soda or kitty litter inside of the shoes. You may want to even use baking soda on the feet with the deodorant.
