When they put this film on D.V.D why did they cut out the scene where Space Gayos gets choped up? That is one of the most memorable monster scenes for me ever even though Gayos is one of my favorite monsters. Was it because it was so gruesome? Also dont you think this makes the D.V.D worse? Also in the japanese version of this film is the fight scene between Space Gayos and Guiron any different or longer?

...I DO recall the bit your talking about, regarding Space Gyos; years ago, I had a bootleg 'dupe' VHS tape of the original Japanese version.

At this time, the only version of the film available is the American International Television cut, released on DVD through Retromedia.

However, be of good cheer; Classic Media, a feature film distributor, who has performed wonders, restoring the classic Godzilla flicks, with both the American and Japanese cuts on the same disc, are slated to take on the Gamera films next, beginning in 2008, starting with Gamera's first film, the black and white "Giant Monster Gamera"

...stay tuned!!!
